You get to read the wonderful book by award-winning Matthew Forsythe, Pokko and the Drum.
***
Pokko’s parents made one big mistake: they gave her a drum. In fact, it was their biggest mistake ever: since she was making an ongoing racket, they couldn’t even hear themselves think – nevermind talk – in the house. After a while, Pokko’s dad asks her to go play her drum outside, but quietly, so she doesn’t disturb the neighborhood.
Outside, she feels a bit lonely, so she starts playing her drum. Something moves behind her: a raccoon just joined her with his banjo! Going on, other animals join the parade and lead us to a joyful ending.
A must-read book about perseverance – and the love of music.
